Relax and Heal
Far Infrared Heat Therapy
Traditional saunas heat the air, often to above 180 degrees. However, our Far Infrared Saunas use much less energy and directly heat your body using naturally occurring far infrared waves of energy. These waves of energy penetrate deep into the human body, gently elevate the body's surface temperature, and activate major bodily functions. Indeed, Far Infrared Heat Therapy is a cutting edge treatment for many ailments and has long been a part of Eastern medicine. It has been proven to reduce muscular tension, provide pain relief, increase circulation and oxygen supply to damaged tissues, and reduce blood pressure.
Infrared Sauna Health Benefits
Infrared saunas are an effective tool for natural healing and prevention. Infrared light has the ability to penetrate human tissue which in turn produces a host of anti-aging health benefits making infrared saunas one of the “hottest” therapies for overall healthier living. If you want to get yourself back into balance, an infrared sauna may be the ticket to achieving your wellness goals.
Far Infrared Sauna
Infrared Sauna’s offer astonishing possible therapeutic benefits and effects according to studies conducted around the world. Most people can relate to the enjoyable experience of having a sauna. However, few may realize there are actually a number of important health benefits that can be derived from regular sauna use. These include:
• Improved detoxification
• Relaxation and stress management/reduction
• Immune system support
• Cardiovascular conditioning
• Improved pain relief
• Weight control/management
• Cellulite reduction
• Skin cleansing
• Blood pressure stabilization
• Easing joint pain and stiffness
• Improving injury healing
• Improving blood circulation
Detox at a cellular level. Detoxify the body from heavy metals including mercury, lead, cadmium, and aluminum. Sunlight Saunas heaters help to purify cells, where our body stores waste and harmful toxins.
• Sweating is the body’s safe and natural way to heal, stay healthy, and detox
• Sweat carries toxins out of the body and pushes it through the pores
• Sweating helps the body release heat and keeps your internal core temperature as consistent as needed
• The average person has 2.6 million sweat glands. Sweat glands are distributed over the majority of the human body
• Skin is the largest organ in the body and it plays a significant part in the detox process
Detox from a Far Infrared Sauna is 7 to 10 times greater than a conventional sauna because it operates more effectively at temperatures 60 to 80 degrees lower than conventional saunas.
In a conventional sauna the average person sweats out 3% toxins and 97% water. In a Sunlight Sauna, the average person sweats out 20% toxins and 80% water! Far-Infrared Technologies that Harness the Sun, Calorie Free
“ The most important breakthrough today for detox and health is to do daily far infrared saunas. Heat therapy is probably the most important avenue for detox for abundant health today”
Detox can be helpful for people suffering from diseases and conditions including:
• Low Blood Sugar
• Digestive Disorders
• Heart Disease
• Mental Illness
• High Cholesterol
• Chronic Infections
Detox therapy is also useful for those suffering from immune system problems that include chronic fatigue syndrome, environmental illness/multiple chemical sensitivity and fibromyalgia.
The United States Centers for Disease Control estimate that over 80% of all illnesses have environmental and lifestyle causes.
Therefore, detox has also become a prominent treatment as people have become more aware of environmental pollution.
For example, it is estimated that one in every four Americans suffers from some level of heavy metal poisoning, including mercury, lead, cadmium and aluminum.
Toxins in the body also include chemical pollutants such as pesticides, DDT, PCB (polychlorinated biphenyls) and food additives. Drugs and alcohol also have toxic effects in the body.
Our Far Infrared sauna delivers the ultimate experience in relaxation. With the most therapeutic far infrared heat found in Solocarbon heating technology, our saunas are guaranteed to help you relax in comfort with an invigoration deep tissue sweat that will have you feeling mesmerized with each sauna session! Relaxation is more important to your health than most people realize. According to New York Times best-selling author and fitness expert Jorge Cruise – and many other health professionals, the more stressed you are, the more cortisol your body will produce. Cortisol is a “fight or flight” hormone made in the adrenal glands that raises heart rate, blood pressure, and encourages the deposit of any excess calories into the midsection.
Scientific evidence shows that far infrared therapy helps the body maintain healthy levels of cortisol. While cortisol levels stay the same or rise slightly during a sauna session, they drop afterwards.
Heating of muscles with far infrared produces an increased blood flow level similar to that seen during exercise. Body temperature elevation also produces an increase in blood flow. Infrared heat assists in resolution of inflammatory infiltrates, edema and exudates. The increased peripheral circulation provides the transport needed to help evacuate the edema which can help end inflammation, decrease pain and help speed healing. Heating of muscles with far infrared produces an increased blood flow level similar to that seen during exercise. Body temperature elevation also produces an increase in blood flow.
Relieve back, neck and arthritis pain with far infrared sauna heat therapy. New clinical research on pain offers evidence to establish a novel class of pain “heat responsive pain” or HRP, which encompasses several common pain conditions that can be treated with the use of heat therapy. Researchers studying HRP (Heat Responsive Pain) have observed remarkable therapeutic benefits by using continuous low level heat therapy for treating lower back and upper back pain, all conditions that fall under the HRP classification. “For centuries healthcare providers have used topical heat to relieve minor aches and pains, but today we are just beginning to understand the full range of therapeutic benefits that heat offers,” said pain expert Peter Vicente, Ph.D. past president of the American Pain Society and Clinical Health Psychologist, Riverhills Healthcare, Cincinnati, OH. “Through new clinical research, we have found that heat activates complex neurological, vascular and metabolic mechanisms to mediate the transmission of pain signals and effectively provide relief for a variety of pain conditions.”
This deep heat helps blood vessels dilate, bringing relief and healing to muscles and is used to treat patients suffering from many forms of arthritis. Infrared treatments also help in relief of pain associated with backache, bursitis, fibromyalgia, headache, sprains and ailments. Stiffness and soreness that comes with aging is reduced.
A case study reported in Sweden involved a 70 year-old man who had rheumatoid arthritis secondary to acute rheumatic fever. He had reached his toxic limit of gold injections and his erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) was still 125. After using a far infrared sauna for less than five months, his ESR was down to 11. A rheumatologist worked with a 14 year-old Swedish girl who had difficulty walking downstairs due to knee pain from the age of eight. This therapist told her mother the girl would be in a wheelchair within two years if she did not begin gold corticosteroid therapy. After three far infrared sauna treatments, she began to become more agile and subsequently took up folk dancing without the aid of conventional approaches. A clinical study in Japan reported a successful solution for seven out of seven cases of rheumatoid arthritis treated with whole body far infrared sauna therapy.
Weight Loss - Burn Calories
Burn Calories in a 30 Minute Far Infrared Sauna Session!
“Saunas are an important aid to weight loss and thyroid repair because as you lose weight, fat tissue releases stored toxins such as PCB’s and pesticides.”
Dr. Mark Hyman, author of NY Times best selling book “Ultrametabolism” and a Far Infrared Sauna customer.
Studies have shown a 30-minute far infrared sauna session can burn up to 200-600 calories! As the body works to cool itself while using a far infrared sauna, there is a substantial increase in heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate. Blood flow during whole body hyperthermia is reported to rise from a Norman 5-7 quarts per minute to as much as 13 quarts per minute.
Sauna's far infrared heat therapy raises core body temperature causing passive cardiovascular conditioning. Your body’s natural response to far infrared heat therapy is to increase circulation and sweat. Check out the results with a heart rate monitor and you will be amazed! Heart rate, metabolic rate and cardiac output increase to improve overall cardiovascular in one 30-minute session.
Lowers Blood Pressure
Be Heart Smart with a Sunlight Infrared Sauna
Far Infrared Sauna's Solocarbon heaters were used in a clinical study with the University of Missouri Kansas City in 2005 and were shown to lower blood pressure from a 30 minute session three times a week.
Repeated Saunas far infrared treatment improves impaired blood vessel functions in patients with high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol. This suggests a preventative role for sauna use for arteriosclerosis.

Infrared light is part of the sun’s invisible spectrum. One of far infrared light’s characteristics is the ability to easily penetrate human tissue. When this happens, it creates a natural resonance, which has many beneficial properties. Remember the last time you were sunbathing with sunscreen? Were you still hot? Of course you were because the sunscreen only stops the ultraviolet (UV) light from hitting your skin. The far infrared heat penetrates your skin, giving you that wonderful natural warmth.
Dr. Alison Bested, Canada’s premier MD treating this growing epidemic of chronic pain, treats her toughest cases in a Far Infrared Sauna in her practice. Dr. Bested reports that after Far Infrared Sauna Therapy patients who otherwise did not respond to treatments will show improvement.
Clinical observations reported by Dr. Jozef Krop (pioneer in sauna therapy) in 1988 showed that detoxification with sauna therapy completely abated the symptoms of asthma in patients where pharmaceutical treatment failed.
Studies at the Renowned Mayo Clinic in 1995 showed that low heat infrared saunas are not only safe for heart patients but in clinical tests actually reduced the symptoms in 34 end-stage-heart patient. The reason; toxins burdening the body were released via sweat, allowing the heart to perform more easily and at peak function for each patient.
Customers with both Low Blood Pressure and High Blood Pressure have reported an equalization of their BP readings and a reduction of symptoms associated with their conditions.
The Solocarbon heat penetrates deeply into the joints, softening connective tissue and making it less brittle and tight.
Customers have reported a complete abatement of symptoms resulting from psoriasis. The sweat carries natural toxins out of the body, instead of them coming out via dead skin cells, and the problem subsides.
Many toxins associated with cancer such as plasticizers, Lead and other heavy metals are proven to be removed in sweat particles. Dr. Sat Dharam Kaur, author of the “Complete Natural Medicine Guide to Breast Cancer” recommends regular far infrared saunas as a means to avoid carcinogenic substances from building to dangerous levels in our bodies.
Studies reported in the Journal of the American Medical Association show that 30 minutes of continuous sweating in a sauna will burn 600 calories, similar to rowing or running.
The Far-Infrared Sauna Experience
Saunas are quite safe for most people if one follows simple precautions.
- Avoid drinking alcohol before sauna use.
- Avoid heavy meals two hours before a sauna session
- Drink four ounces of water before entering a sauna and eight ounces afterwards
- Remove metal jewelry before entering a sauna, as it may become hot. Glasses can be worn, however, the parts of the frame that do not touch the skin can become hot. Rings do not generally become uncomfortable.
- Pregnant women and children under five should avoid sauna use, although in Finland pregnant women regularly use hot air saunas during pregnancy with no apparent ill effects.
A far-infrared sauna should be preheated for 15-30 minutes prior to entering. After the preheat cycle, the sauna will generally be about 100-110f and will rise to about 130-150f during a 30 minute session. If the temperature becomes uncomfortable, the vent in the ceiling may be opened and/or the door may be opened slightly. The infrared rays continue even with the door open and one continues to receive the benefits of the infrared, although the sweating may decrease.
To enhance the effects of a sauna session, visualize absorbing the heat and energy. Deep, slow breathing and good posture are very helpful. Sound therapy, such as listening to low tones, is also excellent. Aromatherapy is also very effective during a sauna session. Do not place oils on the skin, as they might cause a burn.
Finishing Up: How long one remains inside a sauna depends on one’s condition. Body temperature should not increase more than four degrees. The pulse should not increase more than 50% of the resting pulse. Begin with 15 minutes if one is ill. If the heart begins to race, sweating stops or one feels very faint, end the session immediately. Thirty minutes is recommended and sixty minutes is a maximum time.
When finished, towel off the sweat. Drink eight ounces of water. It is recommended to sit or relax for 15 minutes.
